Edition One Terms of Service
Edition One works with clients of all types. Whether you’re a professional publisher,
or just getting started, you’ll find much of the information you need to begin working
on your book other publishing project on our site. Should you need additional guidance,
please contact us. Below, you’ll find information pertaining to our business practices
and necessary legalities. The terms "we" or "our" refer to Edition One, throughout, and
"you" or "your" or "client" refers to the party who contracts with Edition One.
Payment. We require a 50% deposit in order to begin production of your books and/or publications.
The remaining balance is due upon delivery/shipment of your project. Repeat and trade clients may apply
for credit with Edition One. Payment terms for consulting, training, and/or proofing jobs vary, and will
be determined on an individual basis. We accept business and personal checks. Payment via credit card is
available on all orders above $100. Credit card payments will be subject to a 2.0%
transaction fee.
Censorship, etc. Edition One does not censor the content of the books and publications we produce.
However, we reserve the right to refuse any project if we deem the content to be inappropriate or illegal.
If you’re submitting materials that you think might cause offense or discomfort for our staff members,
please contact us ahead of time.
Copyright. Edition One does not accept responsibility for copyright infringement resulting from
the publication of our clients’ documents and files. By submitting images and text to Edition One, you
represent that you either own that material or have explicit written permission to reproduce it. You,
the client, are solely responsible for obtaining any needed permissions before submitting your files to
us for reproduction.
Quality Control. Edition One does not accept responsibility for the quality of the content
submitted by our clients. Spelling, grammar, image quality, formatting, and design are all the
responsibility of the client if we are reproducing client submitted files. The client is also responsible
for reviewing and approving the proof file. Edition One makes every effort to examine every proof before
printing, but we cannot be responsible for client decisions or errors mentioned above. Any misprints or
blemishes resulting from errors made by Edition One during production, will be corrected at no charge.
Data Security. Edition One is not responsible for the safekeeping of your content (documents,
images, templates etc.). All computer equipment is subject to damage and occasional corruption. You, the
client, agree not to hold Edition One responsible for any loss of content stored on our internal servers.
Edition One makes an effort to keep relevant client files on hand in the event that a reprint or reorder
is needed. However, we do not serve as a ‘back-up’ service for our clients, and you are solely responsible
for the protection and storage of your content. All project-oriented content created by Edition One on
behalf of our clients will be delivered on CD or DVD upon the completion of the project.
